funny thing is we had to buy some new semi's and dump trucks in the last 3 years and all this emission stuff they add we are using more fuel. They are more sluggish and not as powerful so it just costs you all around. My husband had to get another one and Tuesday went and leased one this time, a 2011 International and he says it is awful, hesitates and is questioning whether it can do the job he got it for.

One look at america's cars explains it all ;)

I looked at the U.S. Energy Information statistics again and I couldn't help but notice how they totally omitted "Military" from the graphs and calculations. That is probably the largest piece of the pie, however it's equally absorbed across the board into categories like Electrical Power, Industry and Transportation. So one government agency is cleaning up the tracks of another government agency, and the government hides things from us? When haven't they? LOL Gas up for the war effort!

Damm thanks for the video. No wonder the American people are overweight by population. Going to ride bicycles more often lol.

Thanks for the info! Privatejordy is correct, we are just paying big bucks to this lords and private owned companies that make billion annually!! And the govt just loves it because they get millions of just that 1 company!!

@lavenderbadger Yes, I gathered that. My friend is filthy rich, but still practical and aware, and I was bitching about prices after Katrina when we were doing a film in Baton Rouge and he laughed his ass off at me and told me how much a liter of petrol was back home and I couldn't believe it! I couldn't live there! I have several vehicles and love driving.

@Negativions Hmmm Interesting. 1% Electrical Power, with the main source being Coal, and of course 27% for Transportation, with no breakdown of air, bus, train, vehicular unfortunately. It's "Us" though.. regardless, LOL

@privatejordy Driving in the United Kingdom--especially in England--is a joke. They're taxed so much there. I even think they've recently implemented a tax for driving during peak hours. But anyway when I spent some time there, it seemed that the only vehicles there were taxis and buses and that most of the time they used the Underground or connecting train stations. They were always packed.
It would be interesting to know how much goes for mass transit, broken down to ground/air, and how much goes for military, agriculture, the general populous, industry, heating, power generation.
The American people just use and waste and take for granted and we fight wars to secure oil fields and only touch on alternative solutions, and we punch more holes, and as the cars become more and more efficient, the fuel prices stay the same or climb, even when barrel prices go down.. Hmmmm???
