Although I do not quite understand Bengali, I love this song so much. I had a chance to

meet this supreme and gentleman singer in 1961 at Jinja Uganda, when Hemant da came

with Bela ji. I was very fascinated. H e even gave me his then Mumbai address 14, Khar

Rd. I regret I could not make it ,since I had to leave Uganda for Germany.

Thank you so much for uploading this immortal song sung so passionately by Hemanta when he was quite young.This song was a milestone for me when I was 10 years old. This song was the catalyst to discover Rabindranath and Hemanta, who became the two persons who gave me so much joy and inspiration throughout my life. And because of this song I started to sing.

@2subrata : Thank you so much for your comments. I too like this song very much and it is one of the songs which inspired me to like Rabindrasangeet and Tagore. I made this Video because I like it. It is because of Hemanta's singing the song became so popular. I think, nobody else can sing it so passionately. But one of my visitors (here) has doubted this voice as Subinay Roy's.
