  • I think it is great and if you look at all the places that outlaw guns you'll see crimes have gone way up. People need to protect themselves and hold on to the 2nd amendment.

  • guess these morons dont understand a criminal will carry a handgun whether the law says they can or not and the only difference is the ones of us who follow the law will not be able to defend ourselves in case a criminal does decide to bring a weapon, and who the hell ever killed a teacher for a bad grade, what a joke!

  • Virginia Tech was a gun FREE ZONE.

It was that that made the murder spree so big, nobody on campus could gun that maniac down in time.

  • @bruiser07. Yet another lame statement by a dumocrat...just go back to bed.

  • I see the college education paid off for a couple idiots lol. A bad grade...? Wow lol...if a criminal pulls a gun, and 24 lawfully armed students pull on he/she, the criminal, I'd say that the criminal would surrender unless they simply have a death wish. Think about this, a dead criminal, or your son on daughter just before their wedding, or birthday..who do you really want to see? My money is on the law abiding gun rights carrying student or students :)

  • And a black man is worried about being shot...

  • @metalraider187

The concept of liberty is very simple: Each individual has rights. Each individual has the freedom to make decisions for their lives. Government does not.

I actually carry a larger caliber than most police in my state. Also, police do not automatically get more training than civilians. Most police departments hold bi-annual qualifications and quarterly shoots. As a citizen, I guarantee I get MUCH more range time than police do.

  • @metalraider187 id rather it be the criminal shot dead than me or a random student

  • @pbstarkiller yea but regardless of whether or not lethal force is justified you know every person shot dead whether they deserved it or not becomes a fucking media circus, its like either action causes instability on this issue.

  • @metalraider187 true, but we are allowed to use leathal force when mine or some one elses life is is iminent danger. Yes we can try to detain them, but we are justified to shoot until the threat is stopped if they pose a lethal threat.

  • @pbstarkiller i didnt know that, thanks.

But what i meant by cop training is more than just firearms training, they know how to detain someone with or without a gun and do it safely which is the most important.

  • @metalraider187 im currently in the police academy and the firearms training i have had from my CPL class is nearly identical to the taining in the acadamy. Its not just students carying, anyone over 21 who has a valid CPL permit can carry. And no one is going to risk losing their CPL for something stupid that they did. UT colleges have had this in law for awhile now, and they have had 0 incidents, and have seen a decrease in crime on campus.
