The JACK Quartet performs Ercetin's "December" for string quartet and electronics at CCRMA (Center for Computer Research in Musical Acoustics), Stanford University.

The compositional focus lies on complex spatial structures, in which each instrument can send signals to another via transducers that are attached to the body of the instruments. Based on the idea of instruments being "the speakers", feedbacks are created at various degrees throughout the piece. These feedbacks, along with the signals that are diffused via transducers, are integral part of the spectral harmonies / transformations, for they either highlight or cancel out certain partials of the created spectra in the piece.

  • @bafdias Thanks for your comment! ... You may want to contact with the composer for a better one. I doubt if there is a better video, but he might have a better audio recording.

  • Great stuff! Is there any way to get hands on a lossless recording of this? Thx.
