Israeli economy protests gaining momentum

A protest movement in Israel, born out of frustration over soaring property prices, is gaining momentum across the country.

More protests are expected on Saturday, as the list of grievances grows to include health care, education and the cost of living.

Al Jazeera's Paul Brennan has more from Tel Aviv.

@tNJippoes You should also keep in mind that the European settlers living in Australia are not surrounded by a groups of enemy populations in neighbouring countries who seek their extermination. The "Palestinians" are a group of very unfortunate people of Israelite origins (whose ancestors were converted to Islam during the Arabian and Ottoman occupation periods) misguided by their Arab leaders (who hardly care about them) and subject to Zionist Israelite territorial expansion.

@tNJippoes I agree with you that there is indeed more violence in Israel, but comparing to Austrialia, you have to keep in mind they have nothing compared to Hamas or Hezbollah. I'm also quite sure there are no native Australians taking important positions in military, economic and political affairs. Moreover, I don't see any of them speaking in the Australian parliament against the very existence of an Australian state.

@Shibuki Thank you for responding with decency. I agree discrimination exists elsewhere but it is not executed with the same ruthlessness and backed up with State murder. We have our ugly 5% in our Australia just like anywhere else and our original owners of this land are not treated well but we don't kill them in the streets, not in the last 60 years anyway. Discrimination and murder are very different. Palestine is a disgrace perpetrated by people who should know better.

@tNJippoes You should also keep in mind that this kind of discrimination does not exist only in Israel or countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Iran. It exists as well in countries such Turkey, Lebanon, France, Russia, America, Mexico, Brazil and Australia. There's a major difference though. Israel is still at war with Arab countries. Nevertheless, Arabs are still allowed to take important political roles in Israel and represent themselves in Israel's parliament.

@tNJippoes Frist of all, Israel's political regime is not that democratic and secular, as religious leaders are still too influent in the political arena. Secondly, you must not forget there's a conflict going on and that many of those Arabs (who by the way are actually Israelites whose ancestors adopted an Arab cultural identity) seek the extermination of the Israelite people. So you can't really expect a good coexistence under those conditions can you?
