Micahs POV
First Day as a sophomore in High School
"Hey, dude, come on, get up!" Daniel said as he swung his pillow at me, hitting me with a soft thud on my arm.
I instantly woke up and grabbed his ankle causing him to fall backwards. This happened all the time. Id stay the night at Daniel house and sleep on the floor, then Id get this rude awakened 30 minutes after I had just about fallen to sleep. When he got up I realized that it was 5:16 in the morning and he was dressed in his football uniform, pads and everything. "Dude, what are you doing? Its 5 in the morning. Let me sleep." I laid down and pulled the covers over my head again. Another pillow hit my arm again, and again, and again. "Alright! Geez, have it your way. Im up." I was sitting up slowly when he finally threw his pillow at me. 'Dude!"
'What? We have to go over to Ryans house. Then we have to go to school." He stated.
"School doesnt start until 7:30 and its right down the street. And besides," I arose to my feet. "Doesnt he have seminary this morning?"
"Wrong Ryan, smartass," He grabbed my helmet and put it on my head. "Get your uniform on." He smacked my helmet twice then left.
When we got to school, it was just about 6:30. But we werent the only ones there. There were also varsity football players dressed in their uniforms decorating the school. "Why are we here?" I asked.
"Remember last year when they did this?' Ryan said. I nodded. "Well, they always ask three JV players to join them. And they picked us.'
After we finished with that, it was only the three of us in the locker room talking about our class schedules. "Im so not ready for geometry," Daniel said rest his head back on one of the lockers.
"Its not that bad, Im taking algebra 3-4 this year." I replied.
"Didnt you take honors geometry last year?' Daniel questioned.
"And honors bio." I rested my arms on my knees and hung my head down looking at the floor.
"Alright, guys, this is what we do. We run down the main hallway and bring a little more pride to our school." Ryan commanded as he walked out of the restroom.
I didnt want to but Daniel and Ryan did, majority rule. We ran down in the main hallway screaming and yelling. We had two security guards chasing us, and then we ran back into the locker room and changed. Just then the bell rang and the security guards had lost us. Sweet relief. I went ahead of Daniel and Ryan and disappeared into my first hour class. There were these three girls, talking and laughing for half of the class period until the teacher finally spilt them up. She sat this one girl next to me. She had long black hair and bright dark eyes to match. "Hey," I said. "Im Micah."
'Im Allison." She replied. She seemed timid to talk to me but I proceeded to ask her what year she was. She told me Freshman.
"What kind of sports are you interested in?' I questioned, expected volleyball or softball.
"Flag football." She smiled.
"Flag football, really?' I was shocked. 'I play football for the school. Number 81, Micah Lovell JV Team, at your service. Did you see my friends and I running down the hallway?"
"That was you??"
"I dont want to brag or anything but yeah it was."
She laughed. I offered her help with flag football since I used to play it quite a bit. She declined but asked how tomorrow would work. I said tomorrow would be fine. The bell that ended class rang. See you tomorrow, I smiled as she left. Plans for tomorrow: playing football with a freshman girl. Life couldnt get much better than that.
