Joachim van den HOVE (1567? - 1620)
was a popular flemish lutist, composer, arrangeur and lute teacher (e.g. of the Princes of Oranien).

This piece was published in 2/4, however a Canarie is usually played in 3/4 measure, such i tried in the style of the late renaissance dancing music, where many pieces in 2/4 or 4/4 were performed (called "Double", "Hupfauf" or "Saltarello") sucecessively in even and odd measures.

This is the first piece i tried on this powerful sounding instrument by Robert de Witte (1999) without great ornaments but very good vibrations, that had slept for almost 10 years, before i had the great luck to awake it. Enjoy the renaissancelute like sound, and excuse all mistakes of a bloody beginner on doublestrings.

The videoclip allows a look into the glasshouses of our small plant-nursery, were also cacti (Coryphantha vivipara) from south Canada are grwon up from seeds.

To get high quality seeds of Cacti or Lithops, please vistit the ebay account of "siegfriedandreae" (or google for "Berlin-Bohnsdorf Lithops") or write a priv. message ;-))) .
