Rota Spain AFRTS 25th Anniversary Part 2 of 2

This is part 2 of 2 of the special which aired on Armed Forces Radio & Television Service Detachment Rota, Spain's system. It was about the station's 25th anniversary and has external and internal footage of the broadcasting station and its personnel. People like JOC Doug Gorham, JO1 Robin Barnett, JO2 Janine Smith, JO2 Annabelle St. Germain, JO2 Tom Francis, IC2 Clark, JO3 Rick Hillard, YN3 Denise Tuck, etc. I think this was made in 1985. At the time the automation system was state-of-the-art and we used turn tables, cart machines and reel-to-reel machines.

Gee, how time flies! I worked as a weekend volunteer hosting, as far as I know, the only Contemporary Christian Music show on Sunday mornings for the better part of three years between 1974 to 1977. The last time I was on the air at Stereo 96, AFRS was just starting to become known as Naval Broadcasting Det. 13. I was long gone by the time TV arrived. Those are some good memories.

Gee it was great finding this. I was stationed at Rota with the Jack Tar at the time this was done. It was great seeing Robin, Annabelle, Janine and Chief Gorham. I was in Rota 1982-1986.
