Incredible....I remember that I've been reading the report of this match on "La gazzetta dello sport" and the reporter wrote that the goal was in offside.....I also have the official programme of the match.....I was 17....

Crino was Australia's most talented midfielder at the time and was only left on the bench by Frank Arok due to injury. During this Bicentennial Gold Cup in 1988, the Socceroos also played Crino's birthplace Argentina and tried everything to get him fit for the 4-1 victory over the then World Champions but he simply couldn't pass the fitness test.

Crino was injured at the time of this Bicentennial Gold Cup in 1988. The Aussie camp tried everything to get him fit to play against his native Argentina in the same tournament but he just couldn't pass the fitness test.

Oscar Crino who played this game in defensive midfield for the socceroos is actually Argentinian. Unfortunately Frank Arok left him o the bench against Argentina, would've been nice to see him play against his native country as for his home country, but they didn't need him.

I can only think football in Oz will grow more and more and maybe overtaking at least one of other established football codes of rugby league, rugby union or AFL in terms of popularity, provide FFA doesn't stuff it up. A-League, Socceroos, Matildas, Futsalroos, Olyroos, state leagues...... keep up the great work.
