The Magic looked to have the game won in regulation, but Nick Anderson missed four consecutive free throws in the final 10.5 seconds, any one of which would have clinched the win. Kenny Smith then hit a game-tying 3-pointer with 1.6 seconds left to send the game into overtime.

Robert Horry made back-to-back 3-pointers to open the overtime session. After a 3-pointer by Dennis Scott pulled Orlando back into a tie with five seconds left, Hakeem Olajuwon tipped in a Clyde Drexler miss with 0.3 seconds left to give Houston the win.

Olajuwon led all scorers with 31 points, while Anderson and Shaquille O'Neal each had 26 for Orlando. Both teams had all five starters score in double figures.

  • nick anderson was a great player, sadly, he choked and definitely affected the rest of the series and even his career!

  • I remember this series well. I figured that "young" Shaq would be coming into his own." Boy , did Hakeem put him in his place ! Hakeem a Rocket played like a rocket.

with young Shaq clearly defeated he'd not even venture a few feet from the bucket leaving Hakeem open all day(s).

Hakeem ONLY had 4.8 more ppg but the psychological damage was irreperable !

  • Two dominate 7 footers. Man I would love to se this again

  • Anderson screwed them

  • @FuShengAlex LOL i should have known u would be on this page bro

  • 9:39 what a spin move by Olajuwon!!!

  • SLLLLLLLLAM for Shaq!!!!!

  • Dang I wish I watched the NBA in the 90's. At least I can see highlights on channels like this.

  • shaqpopcorn34 2002?? You mean the 4th quarters were Shaq BLEW big time. LOLOL. Vs. the Spurs 4.5ppg on 29% shooting? Last 3 wins vs. the Spurs 1.7ppg on 11%? I thought this Laker Shaq was so much better than the one Hakeem made cry? LOL.

Vs. Sacto in 4th quarters of 02 5.1ppg and 31% shooting? Game 7 vs. Portland he was CARRIED by Kobe, outscored by Kobe, outrebounded, blocks assisted stealed as well. Beaten by your starting SG in big man stats in a closeout game. LOLOL.

  • @FuShengAlex ..deferring to kobe in 4th quarters?..

like when kobe was 1-8 in the 4th in game 6 of the 00 finals..while shaq was 6-6?

or when kobe was 3-7 in the 4th vs blazers in game 7 in 00..while shaq was 3-3?

or when kobe had 0 fgs in the 4th quarter or overtime in game 7 vs the 02 kings,a game with over 15 lead changes and every basket mattered?... "matchups" dont exist with shaq.....he was NEVER guarded 1 on 1...ever...like mike,he rendered his competition to cupcake status LMAO
