  • @X9000BulletsX I totally agree with you mate, I'm all ready to join the AAC with the prime motive of being a pilot - But Officers get a comparatively short time of flying before they're moved to a lesser (desk) role, whereas an NCO can fly as long as he's fit for it. That's why I'm at Uni, otherwise I wouldn't of hesitated, plus I could be posted anywhere at RMAS. Look on the bright side - as and when we do get in, well get better pay!

  • @natsplit you are talking as though this is a computer game, where the biggest gun wins. In real life tank warfare is much different, there are many ways to kill a tank without blowing it into tiny pieces. Tankers ( gunners and layers etc) are taught to aim for vital areas, such as tracks, turret joins or engines/exhaust areas. If any of these are hit it will destroy or disable the vehicle. An RPG or Panzerfaust (etc) have a far smaller chance of penetrating, but can still cause severe damage

  • Why am I giving up being an RAC officer to go to Univeristy. I would rather join the RAc and fight than be in front of a computer all day at Uni. Seriosuly if the Army offered alot more for officers I would be applying in a heartbeat.

  • @natsplit 400mm? Really that low? If you're right than the penetration is really low compared to modern smoothbore guns.

  • @natsplit

In world war 2 tigers and panthers to name but a few reigned supreme, and it took allot of other tanks to take each one out.

What I'm trying to say is that there is no heavy modern tank alive that can withstand a direct hit from another heavy modern tank (Yes the tank might be okay and repairable, but the crew will be fucked up).

Not allot of peeps know this.

Ex CH2 crewman who served with A Sqn 1RTR who are in this video.

  • @CDStoner

    Don't get me wrong.

CH2 is totally useless in tank vs. tank scenarios.

For asymmetric warfare like in Iraq or Afghanistan its perfect.
