You know what is immoral....? Islamic values! E.g.
* Death penalty for apostasy
* Homophobia
* Misogyny
* Slavery
* Ritual slaughter
* Circumcising children (both male and female)
* Death penalty or lashings for blasphemy (yet there is nothing to blaspheme)
Whether you choose to follow these values or not, they are part of Islam. Don't tell us we're bad people for not condoning the above.

The amount of death, misery and suffering in this world, its no wonder religion was invented. It gives man that anchor, and that hope of an afterlife, although of course normal people know there isnt an afterlife, when you're dead you're dead just like not being born.
Remember why you are a muslim!You didnt BEIIEVE in god at all, but believed in your parents doctrine for which came from their parents etc...and etc....
Its cute to be religious, but when it comes down to it, its sheer ignorance.

your arguments are old and stupid, as your religion

@Pigroota Well of course probably wouldn't cut it. The probably was applicable when discussing a broad range of situations, but as you saw, when we brought up a specific situation, I didn't say probably, but instead said what I thought should happen in that specific situation and or example.

You say "the only one who can define what is right and wrong is the Creator". But Muslim's Creator is different from the Christian's, both are different from the Jewish one; the Sunni's and Shia's and Sufi's and Wahabi's all differ. When religion defines morality, that is NOT objective. Being objective means being based on EVIDENCE that all can see regardless of their religions. One person may want to set rules to benefit himself, but rules are made and enforced by societies, objectively or not.

@KevinLounsberry Fair enough. Probably often doesn't cut it though when it comes down to a decision about right and wrong. Eventually a decision must be made. I think ethics is pretty simple day to day, but what constitutes ethical action in a court is usually based on deontology. Kant called these 'maxims of prudence' or something. I am a deontologist. And on religion, well we both know that these jokers are whacked out! No need to convince me there.
-
@KevinLounsberry But while we're on the topic of rapists, I'd be silly not to point out that both Jehovah and Allah think rape victems should be physically punished. Jehovah says to throw stones at them until they die and Allah says they should be whipped 100 times, often causing death.
-
@Pigroota It's not as quite as black and white as you think. You'll notice I put "probably" in there. That means it shouldn't necessarily be done. Personally, I think people shouldn't be executed, but instead made to live a torturous existence in a horrible jail. Also, sometimes people are found innocent, if they're dead, you can't end their punishment. Execution is permanent.
-
@KevinLounsberry So are you saying that it is ok to kill a rapist? That action would benefit more people than it harms. Right and wrong are not a simple dichotomy as you have assumed. Ethics is the most difficult part of life.
-
Actually, you're sort of right, I don't believe in right or wrong. But I do believe in beneficial and harmful. If something harms more people than it helps, it shouldn't be done. If something benefits more people than it harms it's good, and it should probably be done.
We are both atheists.
when you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you might understand why i dismiss yours

If you believe in god then you believe that someone intentionally makes babies born with brains outside of their skulls, you believe that children deserve to be born with aids, you believe that someone wishes blindness on innocent people,you believe that "god" created the endless hell known as Israel and you believe that god is stupid enough to make us breath through the same hole we use to swallow food. I have faith that nobody is that evil or that stupid.
