  • Fantastic version, thanks for posting.

  • @MrDallasyeh

Yes, this song's lyrics were written about 65 years after the tune was composed and later put to O' Tannenbaum. The tune was created in 1824, and these lyrics in 1889.

  • O Tannenbaum?

  • Beautiful version of this song.

  • @KingOfStrangePersons indeed :) I'm not claiming he had an healthy approach to it, just that his flavour of fascism had a reddish tinge. For me the term national socialist is a contradiction in terms, because socialism should be about personal freedom and egalitarianism, and nationalism precludes that. I once debated a fuck-knuckle once who claimed to be a nationalist libertarian, with not a trace of irony. When i challenged him on the personal freedom to determine choice of culture he rage-quit

  • @lo2enge The reason that the Nazis had Socialist leanings was to gain popularity really, although they also slightly oppossed Capitalism, mostly because they felt that race was more important then money, and because they believed the German working class were strong and intelligent, where as the ruling class had only gotten to power through corruption, but Hitler had most accual Socialists in the party eliminated during 'The Night of the Long Knives'.

  • @KingOfStrangePersons economically, Hitler did have socialist leanings - he supported welfare for the poor and respect for workers within what he considered the aryan ubermenschen. Admittedly, this did sweeten the bitter pill of fascism and nationalism to the detriment (and death) of millions, but one cannot deny his brand of social darwinism wasn't as cut-throat as some. He was one muddled-up sick little puppy.

  • @chavkill2 True

  • @KingOfStrangePersons I wouldnt say socialism is exactly about everyone being the same possibly more communism. Socialism as I see it is about everyone having equal opportunity. We wouldnt be equal in terms of wealth or resources but no one man would be greater than another, together we would fight to save any man woman or child who is in need of help in our country or in another.

  • @llorensl Socialism is about the whole of humanity being equal, no difference, and living peacefully, sharing the ressources of the earth, that ridiciolously horrible right wing fascist movement that stole the word Socialist to get popularity with the working class - the National Socialist (Nazi) movement was about no humans being equal, and the "strong" destroying the "weak" to "improve humanity"
