What is the National Archives and Records Administration? It's more than the home of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights. It's more than the nine billion documents in its holdings. The National Archives is the nation's direct link to not only its past as a country, but to your past, too.
This is all part of why democracy starts here at the National Archives.

The word "democracy" has been totally distorted. Rose Wilder Lane talked about this in her 1943 book "The Discovery of Freedom". Many americans, perhaps most, confuse "democracy" with "majoritarianism" (rule of the majority). They were NEVER suppose to be synonymous. You can only have true democracy (rule of the people) when you have small government. Big government is destructive of democracy.
