Help! My Dog's Breath Smells Like Butt!

My precious doggie's breath is just HORRIBLE! I don't know what to do about it.
I have given him green treats to clean his teeth, brushed his teeth, put all natural Tom's Mouthwash on his gums, and his tongue ( Whoooooaaa, he really didn't like that- started to gnaw on everything he could find.).. and NOTHING seems to help.

He is the best dog, but I can smell him coming before I see him!
Please! Recommend any successful solutions for dog halitosis that you have come across.
Both the dog and myself would appreciate it.

I had the same problem. There was a "glob" of fur, deep in Her upper jowl, (lip). It must have been there for a while, because some food was trapped in it, causing a rotting meat, nasty smell. Took it out, and smell improved, (with brushing also), right away...

@rosendito Ewwww! lol..that sounds bizarre.. does your dog have long jowls? Lol... I have caught my dog eating things he should not eat and have had to dig in his mouth to get them ought.. nothing stuck in there.. but I do think he needs a good teeth cleaning treatment. He's on vacation right now. I've got to make sure I send his toothbrush & doggy toothpaste! lol.

@benmendez Thank you.. Yep, I was at the vet with him recently ( he got attacked by a pit bull) and there were charts everywhere that state that if your dog has bad breath, it is a sign of an oral health problem. I got a doggie toothbrush & toothpaste kit. I give him carrots too.

best way to stop bad dog breath is to STOP FEEDING COMERCIAL CRAP ITS POISON TO YOUR DOG best way forward is to change there food to veg meats chicken all the things dog eat / thay dont cook there own food do thay when in the wild natures way is the best check out the /BARF DIET/just typ it in the search bar / best thing you could ever do for your dog.

Hi wonda. Well garlic can kill bad bacteria and helps stop worms; butt it can eventually get rancid after time so that's not good. Better is cinnamon. It is healthy and I sometimes 1 x/ week combin a very small amount of cinnamon, curry and cumin. I wipe a small amount on the tongue or roof of the mouth. Also these spices aid circulation. %^)

@KCobain2021 Thank you for replying and watching.. I had a neighbor whose dog's breath is so bad that its hard to sit in the car with her the dog. She can't get her teeth cleaned because the dog has a heart condition.. It smells like ROT.. poor dog.
