Man look like i got same problem :/
my Asus is a A7SNseried
But when my PC freeze.
All music/sound hang or someting (heard fucked) and It look like my PC got SUPER LAG like yours.
Maybe i got same problem like You?

I could be ram,cpu or Hard Drive but i seriosly suggest reinstalling OS before taking it to Service Center...

I went back to the shop and they game me a new one, looked it up on the internet, and it said that it was something with my drivers yes. Seems the pre-installed driver settings of Windows 7 were not compatible.
Well anyway, got one that works now, so deal's done :p
