@TnTom1959 He was a teenager when he was locked up in this mental institute. The song Fire and Rain was about his friend, Suzanne who was there and I believe left, when he wasn't aware of her leaving.

Story has it this song is about a (mental institute) rehab center he admited his self into because a woman (Susan) He loved was put there by her parents, to keep her away from him
