It's funny how many people would deem this piece of music "modern" or "avant-guarde". This is absolute an absolutely classical piece!!! If you like Bach or Mozart but don't like this, you must have a problem either with your ear or your brain

Amazing performance by one of the greats pianists of the modern era. All the Ashkenazy concerts I've been to have been exreaordinary and memorable. I love the three wartime sonatas of Prokofiev,. each so different and great in their own way. Thanks for uploading.

Beautifully written. Incredibly pianistic. Splendid interpretation. I saw him play this in Zurich and it was the best concert of my life!
