heyy. the DSLR's come with a standard lens in the box if you buy the so-called 'camera kit'. Otherwise, you must purchase the lens yourself.

not necessarily they are just the body but you can but a package deal that includes one

not usually with the higher end, more professional oriented ones

It depends. Some only come with the body, some come with both. And you can get this one with both the kit lens, and the body.

I've got a question regarding the D5000's performance. When you take pictures, do they come out as grainy and noisy as the Nikon Coolpix cameras? I can't decide whether I should purchase a Nikon D5000 or an HX-1.

D5000 pictures are of better quality then the Sony HX1.
I have both cameras so I know.
