My cat had babies this morning.

I woke up really early this morning, barely awake. I noticed my cat was sorta "missing" and I had a feeling she was maybe asleep. Well, I knew the kittens would come at any day now because she was HUGE! I took one last picture of her last night of her pregnant and I'm glad I did. I went back to bed then later on a couple hours later got back up. I was starting to look for the cat, I had her closed off from my dogs because I didn't want them to trample her during the pregnancy. And there is not much places she can hide, I looked inside a deep box after hearing my cat meow at me. And I opened it up and sure enough the babies were snuggled up inside the box. She laid out a nice soft nesting area and did an amazing job with the babies. Seems that no babies have died as of yet, I know sometimes not all of them make it, but so far they are very healthy looking. All about the same size and all very active and lively. There are two greyish type ones, and three orange type ones like her. The one grey looks like it will be a calico cat. I'm really happy, and I may be tempted to keep one.

do you have to prepare a nest for her or she can make one on her own

As the video states, she had them in a large box in the corner. She created her own nest there but since it was very closed off and there was a lot of junk in that box. I felt safer that they would move into a more open box as you see in the video. :]

I knew she would create her own nest, but sometimes cats like to make them in a very odd place.
