Calmer? Riiiiight. Somebody needs to get that memo to my Somali. At 12, she STILL keeps the household on its toes (and my Lalique in an upstairs closet)!

@MrsTwilightAddict18 ooh, lucky you but how could anyone abandon their Somali kitten & at 8 weeks old. Do let me know if you upload any videos. The Somali in the UK has quite a different profile from the Aby, the Somali face is rounder and less angular. You are right though, the Somali did originate from the Aby & it was some 50 years ago they became a recognised breed, now a thriving and very popular breed here in the UK. Rightly so, you will soon find out how much they love their owners

@feelingfluffy People call Somali cats "longhaired abyssinians". They are just as fun, affectionate and energetic, but they can be a bit calmer than they're shorthaired counterparts, given they're mother and father's tendencies and the environment--though they usually stir up beautiful chaos, as I am learning. I have a 8 week old rescued Somali kitten and my house hasn't been quiet since I found her.

Somali kittens are sooo cute! Do they have the same personalities as abyssinians? I heard they were calmer. Also, do they get along with other cat breeds?

omfg!! i want one sooo bad!!
How on earth did I miss this one???! I'm totally smitten with these little fellows. Love the little play growl. Weem used to do that too when he was small. He gave up when he realised he wasn't fooling anyone. He's such a softie.
