The Bill - Snouts And Red Herrings [4:3 Format]
The Bill Season 1 - 3 Box Set, Disc 4 Season 2 1985 - 1986. 1985 - 1986 episodes.

Snouts and Red Herrings is the 12th episode of The Bill. Clashing personalities mean fricting in Sun Hill Nick - to say nothing of the hassle on the streets.

Amidst renovation chaos at Sun Hill, a new P.C., Abe Lyttleton, arrives a day early. He is Sun Hill's first black police officer, and although he is friendly and popular, his arrival is not appreciated by bigoted cop P.C. Pete Muswell.

D.C. Dashwood recognises a man who has brought in his papers for a car (licence, M.O.T. form and insurance). He is using a false name and address.

During electrical repairs, the personal radios are out of action and as a result, a CID operation is blown

Martella Larry Dann as Sgt. Peters Peter Ellis as Chief Supt. Brownlow

D.I. Roy Galloway gets divorced from his wife during this episode. They were constantly arguing throughout Series 1. First appearances of P.C.s Pete Muswell (Ralph Brown) and Abe Lyttleton (Ronnie Cush). This was the first episode in which Sun Hill uses the revised "Sierra Oscar" divisional callsign. This reflects the introduction by the Metropolitan Police of two-letter callsigns, and the adoption of "Oscar", formerly used at Sun Hill, by the Traffic Division. P.C. Pete Muswell appears to be a lightly reworked version of P.C. Dave Litten, who did not return for Series 2. The opening titles were altered for the second series, and some elements remain in the titles for the next thirteen years: the speeding oncoming police vehicle with June Ackland in the passenger seat, the Bill logo in front of a police siren, Bob Cryer just before the logo and the radio call "Victor 1-1".
