See Zancanaro singing this.

A beautiful rendition of my own favorite role to sing, but he is even more superb when singing in his native Russian in Tchaikovsky. Listen to Louis Quilico's version of this from the 1973 full recording with Sills, Gedda, Quilico and Plishka, he is absolutely sublime in his interpretation and the use of his voice, which his has a golden velvet quality to it.

@ezayi as many baritones are O.o
-
si muy bonita voz, pero en vivo la voz le falta brillo y no corre mucho que digamos el sonido, pero la voz de baritono es muy buena =)
-
@ezayi I would be full of myself if I were as hot and talented as he is
-
i puritani remind me a lot of il trovatore :) the plot.

What a performance! What a voice! This man is a hero!

I don't understand how one can get away with not using consonants.

Love his voice but he´s so FUCKING FULL OF HIMSELF... that that´s the only thing I DON´T LIKE!!!

Seguramente la voz de baritono mas bella de todas, pero le falta un poco de proección, en teatro le falta brillo.
frufruJ, do you know if Dima has ever performed this role onstage? I think he would be a perfect match for Arturo!

He indeed has. I have recordings of his 1994 performance with Edita Gruberova and his 1992 performance with Sumi Jo. A short video from the 1994 performance is here: watch?v=lnxetZT2HWY He has been focusing on Verdi lately, though.

frufruJ, I just shared this spell-binding vid with my friend Dodi, she is an aspring singer you should hear her! she has a voice like Roschmann! Maybe you could give a few encouraging pointers!
