Freddie Matthies President of WNBRFU (West New Britain Rugby Football Union), Captain and Coach of the Kimbe Rebels promoting New Guinea Islands (NGI) style of Rugby 7s thanks to major sponsors Pacific MMI Insurance (http://www.pacificmmi.com).
The Pacific MMI Kimbe Rebels are the dominate team of Papua New Guinean Rugby 7s. The team is a grass-roots team made up of players from NGI, with the majority of players from Kimbe, West New Britain Province.
The countries representative side PNG Puk Puks have been glittered with Rebels players over the years including, the Rebels captain, Freddie Matthies and a host of other stars such as Gina Ponda & brothers Gare & Tony, Nelson Daplin, Leo Tikot Junior, Shadrach Ghabiliha, Montgomery Diave, Eugene Tokavai, former PNG sprinter Albert Levi Junior, Tisa Kautu, Michael & Hubert Vitolo, Jeffry Vineval, Roland Namo & Henry Liliket.
