@jdmiller71201 Imagine what he was like 25 years ago, and then perhaps you might revise your statement. Few pianists get (or stay) this good for there entire lives. I believe he is among the greatest of the late 20th and now early 21st century pianists.

@jdmiller71201 Alfred Cortot didn't always hit the right notes; and besides, after listening to his performances and recordings, do we really care? I live fifteen miles from the Festival Hill Institute at Round Top, which James DIck founded, to teach young professional pianists and later a concert hal. I have heard him play many times; his tone and musical sense are almost unparalleled among today's performers.

I feel sorry for this guy. He's obviously working hard. I mean, he has a "right" to play this piece, doesn't he? But, it's obvious he's struggling. I can almost hear his thought processes: "Here come the octaves, careful to voice those chords...whew! That went well!..Wait! This is a hard part! Oops, missed that one! Oh, well, they probably didn't notice...oh yes, where was I..." I don't mean to be a snob, but leave these pieces to the ones who can really play them, and not destroy them.
