man can i ask you sth about this gpu? can i drop the emperature if i add a fan under the gpu's board?
-
@AxeWind sorry i had to delete the comment i just made because i thought you meant in (F) not (C). Anyways, That is still a good improvement overall. It will make game play smoother and response time faster. Also what helps is notching all the graphics settings down to an acceptable range and getting rid of un-neccessary stuff like " anti aliasing, putting shadows on medium-low, lowering water detial " and also putting your screen resolution lower helps A LOT. 1600X1200 or under works best.

@CoolConejo i put a minifan at the back of my comp near gpu slot and it idles in the 60s now and goes to80-90 in high end games, at least that beats 100+

Oh and mine was 8800GT 512MB version.
-
@AxeWind yeah bro, that's pretty high BUT, Not unusual for this card. Mine used to get that hot when i had it for the first year or so. Then i bought an aftermarket cooler. now it Idles at 95-98F(35C).
And on Maximum load set on a few Hours it reaches 130-135F(54.4.C-57.2C) That's RARE though, because i hardly push it on maximum. It usually only reaches 105-125F(40C-48C) when I'm playing games for a Couple hours or More. Keep in mind, That is with No Fan.

i use this fan i idle at 78-82c and depending on game im anywhere from 85-120c <-- is that to high im kinda afraid but the computers been going strong 4 years
-
this is way easy that slim version lol
I dont think that will help much, it would be better to increase circulation/ventilation in your case.

Yeah, you should get a new one now, plenty of other cards that are more efficient

Yeah, you need plenty of cooling for these high end cards. This was reaching 80 to 90 deg C before it burned out. : (
