The Union Pacific's 1982 and 1995 Heritage engines are the motive power for the day's UP Cares/Operation LifeSaver train on the Belvidere subdivision. Engineer Hawley brings the super clean train to a halt in downtown Wayne for a brief photo op.

I figured Engineer Dave Hawley would be doing one of his usual "hair on fire" runbys. So I didn't set up my three cameras since I had planned to catch it later anyway. To my surprise (And to the half-dozen or so other observers present.) Dave did a nice, slow rollby and came to a stop for about a minute. A few photos were taken by the crew and the rest of us and then on they went. Even one of Wayne's finest grabbed his cellphone for a shot.

I've edited out the portion with all the photogs running around grabbing shots. Mine are here: http://basicbill.com/post/52504670516...

And if you'd like to see "Highball Hawley" at his more normal speed.
