@Kretin69 Genuinely I think they are. Some of these girls devote many many hours to organising charity events to raise money. Kirstie, who won the award for the biggest fundraiser, raised £30,000. Charlotte who was 2nd was only interested in winning the charity award, raised £5000. I've got to know these girls and whilst some ultimately are only in it for the crown, the majority do it because of the sense of reward you get for making a difference. Cheesy as that sounds, its true.

@abi24 You're welcome, its unfortunet to have winners and losers in competitions that involve some kind of charity work. I agree that there can be different levels of narcissistic behaviour the person who thinks "this shirt looks good on me or the person who thinks their gods gift to the opposite sex lol. In regards to the charity work, it is great that the ladies get involved but the "end game" is to win Miss England so are these ladies as selfless as you portray them? enjoying this debate btw

@Kretin69 Maybe. But it's not exactly as narcissistic as people make out because at the end of the day, you are giving up a year of your normal life to do things for others. Kat took a year out of the Army, Jess this year's winner has taken a year off university - these are all big personal things being put aside - for all the charity work. Thanks for the good luck btw, i didnt make the final but i had so much fun and everyone was lovely - cant speak highly enough of it as an experience.

@abi24 It is only logical to assume that all people that enter into competitions that are judged by physical appearence have cannotations of narcissism. Otherwise they would not enter. Would one enter a swim race if they were affraid of water or could not actually swim?! Oh, and good luck in the competition!
