Did this work straight away using your old HDD because when I connect mine up it says there is no drive connected, does you HDD need to be formatted?

@joecox406 so you didn't need to format the drive first? As I am trying to retrieve old files from my previous HDD and put them on a new one but the seller to me it had to be formatted first, which would be no use as I need the files on it!

@jaymanbuzz89 I had a corrupt hard drive and needed to recover files from it to a new hard drive. I used this exact caddy to put the old hard drive in. I didn't need to reformat it. Once in and plugged in I was able to open the drive in my computer and begin moving the files.
