HD Video: Inception Trailers 1-3, Matrix Screensaver captured with FRAPS.
HD Audio: Brand X Music: Eliminator (Not the remastered version), from The Matrix Teaser Trailer.
HD Extras: "Matrix code"/"Matrix Rain" added to some title sequences.

With the trailer music coming from The Matrix teaser trailer, I tried to keep this one in the same manner. After the titles, and the music increases in tempo, the scenes will decrease in length until the final clip where Leonardo awakens.
I wanted the clock to be a part of the last 3 clips before the abrupt change in the music's setting.
I also wanted the clip of Ken Watanabe to be part of the last 3 clips to make it look more like a bad dream or a nightmare.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I wanted it to look like a series of dreams and bad dreams combined.

The last segment, after Leo slowly looks back at the camera, all of that is to be in synch with the music. Repeated titles and flashes of the actor's names.
I was very hesitant in finishing this when working on the last segments. I wasn't sure the outcome would be as interesting compared to most other custom trailers out there.
But this final edit is how I felt in relation to the music.
The sudden change in tempo and the exact timing of a new section in the music compelled me to make the final changes in the edit.

I strongly felt this was the best way to make the changes and keep up with the on-screen action.

For the most part, I tried to keep the short-bursts of the music's rhythm in synch with the action on-screen. There are very quiet points in the music where you can hear the guitar hit a few chords.
That's the cue I used to change the short-burst segments on-screen. And as the music gained speed, so did the duration of the segments used for the edit.

The remastered version of "Eliminator" makes the notes more audible, which to me was very different; as I grew up knowing only the Matrix Teaser Trailer version.

  • COOL VID DUDE :D u got to teach me how to do this XD XD

  • @christopheronlyson lol i've actually upgraded my techniques to something more sophisticated than this trailer.

I'm thinking of doing a remake of this with "chroma key" techniques.

  • Thanks for the comments everyone :) Glad you enjoyed it! Adding the matrix code was more of a last minute thing as it was an idea I got from listening to the trailer music so much lol.
