Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few will find it. You need to beware of the Great Gorge of Good Works on your right where it is tempting to wander and to put your confidence in your works. You need to be equally leery of the Vast Valley of Vile Living on your left where it is tempting to think God's Grace is a licence to sin. It is only Christ and His Word and His sacraments that draw you to himself and keep you clinging to Him on the straight and narrow path.
