actually we are to for an ice age in the next 10000 years as the earth gradually moves farther away from the sun. i find people who freak out about global warming to be very simple minded, climate change is menial when u consider that the world still has a nuclear arsenal that that destroy the world many times over. The climate of the earth is not, and has never been stationary. There is nothing we can do to change that fact. cabon control is just a temporary solution. try reading sometime.

Also... You ask about the trend since the 1970s. The trend has been in evidence since the early 1800s. But the warming trend during the 900s was much steeper than the one we are in now. How do we account for that? Democrats were not around to rescue the Earth then, and it cooled for quite some time...

The current temperature of the Earth based on four large scale multi proxy studies is either 0.1 degree higher than it was in the year 1000, or it is 0.1 degree cooler. Although there is an obvious upward trend during the 20th century, it is a minuscule tick in the large scale of the Earth's evolution.

Oblivious? No. I am not convinced that there is much that we can do to circumvent what seems to be a natural cycle of climatic change, though.

There is a dearth of evidence indicating that the Earth is in a warming trend, but that there may be a reversal of that trend at hand. Even so, the historical evidence that we have available indicates a certain inevitability in this area of interest.

So, are you just a dickhead? Or just oblivious to jokes?
