War heroes advancing in the North braving inclement weather
The gallant soldiers are advancing in the battlefront braving the inclement weather..
Our Special Representative Kasun Gunatilake reporting from the battlefront said the LTTE terrorists suffered heavy losses today. He said the prevailing inclement weather has become an issue. But the war heroes are continuously taking enemy targets braving the heavy rainfall. Submerged roads have become problematic in transporting food, water and weapons. Another challenge is the evacuation of the injured for treatment. However, soldiers of the 59th Division succeeded in capturing several terrorist bunkers today. They are continuing their advance towards the North in the midst of the un-favourable climatic conditions.
Meanwhile, the war heroes are nearing the Kilinochchi town, shattering terrorist strongholds. The final operations are being staged to destroy the remaining terrorist strongholds within the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu Districts.
Air Forces rescues four stranded soldiers
The Air Force has successfully rescued four soldiers stranded during military operations..
The Army soldiers were stranded during operations carried out North of Maankulam. However, the Air Force took swift action to rescue them. It undertook a special operation using Bell-212 and MI-14 helicopter gun ships to rescue these four soldiers..
