Paille hit on Sawada - 3 Feb 11.mp4

That's what Razor said about blindside hits to the head, after this hit by Daniel Paille of the Boston Bruins on Raymond Sawada of the Dallas Stars. This hit took place towards the end of the 2nd period in the Bruins-Stars game on Feb 3, 2011. After a few minutes of concern because no penalties were posted, Paille was finally given a match penalty for an illegal hit to the head.

I see shoulder and head in there. It's unfortunate but shit like that happens. One of our guys in the playoffs got hit square in the face with a shoulder from Phaneuf and not even a minor penalty was called.

i mean that just a basic head contact rule in play there.

I know thats not how its always been but you gotta play the cards youre delt and hat is a rule.

And i agree that was intended to just knock his head off when really the whole point of a check should be to separate the man from the puck not his head from his body

According to the new rules, it's a suspension. Its to the head, off his feet, took too many steps. And it is right, what the biased commentator is saying. Do you think a 3 game suspension, with pay, really makes a difference to anyone?

this hit was clean until mid season last yr. According to the new rule this is easily a suspension. It's pretty cut and dry. Just read the rule. That settles that debate.

The only fault here is that Paille got off his feet which is a penalty. As for Sawada cutting across ice with his head down he deserved to get his clock cleaned, that's what happens when you don't play heads up hockey. As for the commentator saying a "screaming 25 game suspension"... well that tells you exactly how retarded biased commentators can be.
