here you see my first ever completed model (my first true model however was a revell PT-109)
this particular model is by revell-monogram which was mfr. in 2005-2006 (revell USA) and can be found for 10$-20$ on ebay and retailers
and is 1:48 scale (10.25 inches long with and an 11 main rotor span)

colors used for this were mostly Field Green (FS34097 US Gov. color) for a an accurate USMC UH-1E vietnam era color on the main body, along with flat black for the pilot control panel and rotor blades+skids, silver for the cabin floor and rear bulkhead, flat yellow and flat red( i used enamel paints)

i feel that this model turned out pretty well for my first time, and I might make more to create a small air wing of huey's

also i did not use the pilot figures as i did not have the correct paints and they did not seem nescessary for the model

aswell as some of the smaller decals which were starting to lose there adhesive anyways
music used is the Men of Valor main theme by Inon zur (Xbox, PC) message me if you want the music or the whole OST

  • Did it came with the green paint if it wasnt green when you opened it up?

  • @epicnub1 these model kits do not come with paint. Paint must be bought separatley. the plastic itself is olive green though. the paint that i used on this model is authenic USMC Field Green enamel paint.

  • I built the exact same model, how long did it take you, it took me 2 weeks. And what did you use for the fuselage color?

  • @theFPSIreland hi, I built this in 4 fays as this was my first model. I used an authentic Field Green color from testors enamel "FS34097". and if you didn't know, Field Green is what real USMC choppers used in Vietnam

  • how long did you need for the huey and was it really difficult to built it?

  • @Trinity1923 hi, this chopper took me 4 days working for about 8 hours for 3 of those days, the model is not nessesarily difficult, you just need patience since you have to let parts dry when glue is applied..

if you rush paarts may break or not stick properly which may set you back in construction.

#1 rule of model building is patience

    also i am currently buidlding a CH-46A and AH-1G in 1:48 scale, and soon a UH-34D

    i will post pics soon
