so, let me check this: you think Paul Simon's tunes are heavenly, which the are, and you say he was a great songwriter; I point out he still is and you go off on me with your childish horseshit and I'm supposed to 'just hush'? You are an infantile human being, sonnyboy. Go along and play, now.

no, just smarter than you. And shut the fuck up is not a very witty response, dumbfuck. haha. See-two can play that hater game. Chill out.

I considered myself quite knowledgeable concerning the music of Paul Simon. So imagine my surprise about this video, in which two seemingly unrelated songs appear to spring from the same well! What is the source of this vid?
Apparently, this was from before the time PS went to a Chinese restaurant and ordered the mysterious dish 'Mother and Child Reunion', only to find that the dish consisted of a chicken, filled with egg.

I do not have a clue where this originated from. All i know was that i was probably one of a few people who had it, and had ever listened to it. So I needed to post it. I am so glad you enjoyed this as much as I do.

dan, there was the dick cavet clip from 1970 where paul played the guitar and you could tell that american tune and bridge over troubled water were at first the same song, did u catch it before they took it down?

Yeah i did see that, its not that he used American Tune to make bridge over troubled waters, he used Beethoven's Lachroal to help him make the melody for bridge over troubled waters. For American Tune, he just took that melody, and just created beautiful lyrics to it. But what is really interesting about "Mother and Child" is that this is the outcome of 3 different songs, Was A sunny Day as it is shown in the clip, but also 'why dont u write me" was supposed to have this melody. its just amazing
