Oil shark tankers anchored off World Heritage coastline are an environmental accident waiting to happen, conservationists warned today.

  • I think Russia in a good example of how this peak oil thing is going to play out, the population decreases through attrition. Inflation increases and jobs pay less, everyone has a lower standard of living and infectious diseases begin to kill more people. THE LONG EMERGENCY

  • Interesting comment.

    Bryan

  • Bryan, do you believe that we are still headed for a global depression? if so my mail says that Aus and Nz will fair relatively well, whatever that means.

  • Yes I do think the financial crisis is not over. Next year will be the time to watch. The structural problems of bad debt are still with us and post peak oil is now impacting. Everything will unwind and there is little that can be done to change that.

  • If you did grow your own food, could you protect it 24-7 from starving would -be thieves who are currently your neighbours?

  • This is a really bad situation we are getting into. I don't think I can grow my own food. What about employment? Who will be working in the post peak oil world? More questions than answers.

  • Will look at that.

    Cheers
