Cambogia/Cambodia - Kompong Phhluk (Siem Reap)
Kompong Phluk lies about 16 km southeast of Siem Reap and is a small village made up of 3 different hamlets. The villagers live within the floodplain of Tonle Sap Lake and thus have taken to build their houses on high stilts. During the wet season the water rises right to the entrance to the homes; in the dry season, from November to May the waters recede. These are fishing villages and a visit is a great way of spending time after visits to Angkor have been finished.
