  • @busjunkiebill I wish they could've kept the poles too, but unfortunately when PAT modernized the system, they went solely to an overhead system that is only compatible with a pantograph. This is because of the absence of wire frogs at the switches, and a different style of wire hangers that won't work with a trolley pole.

  • @busjunkiebill Because trolley poles did need switches in wire on junctions and could "de-wire". (like trains can have derailments)

  • i have been on the old overbrook line once i think back in 1990 or 1991 it used to have 22 original street level stops now converted in to 8 stations

    i wish they still existed my good friend. I used to take the light rail to school everyday and i wish like hell the PCCs would have been around for me, luckily whem i was younger my gram would take me out and we would ride the 47D with a very nice operator named bob twice a month, i miss the PCCs and i really miss bob he retired back in 2005

  • Great video of what was and is no more. Everything has been changed. I was a regular rider for about 10 years and this brings back memories. FYI the PCC with the odd looking roof vent in front of the pantograph is 4006. It was the only air conditioned PCC in the fleet. It now sits in a vacant lot in Columbus Ohio rusting away. 4004 is now at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in Washington PA and is in regular service there. I believe I saw 4007 which is on display in Bethel Park PA

  • Despite the pantographs, fantastic video! I can't help but keep coming back to it. This is a historic piece now. Thanks for preserving it!
