It is definitely unethical and I'm posting everything I can on Facebook to let people know what they are doing. I am also transferring my balances to other credit cards.

I'm not real thrilled with the "expert" that says what Chase Bank is doing is not illegal. I would disagree with that.
Even if it is not illegal, it is not ethical to not allow an opt out option to customers. Not allowing an opt out option happens less than 1% of the time.
