Ben's De Luxe Delicatessen and Restaurant was a renowned delicatessen in Montreal. The restaurant was best known for its famous smoked meat sandwich. During its heyday it was a favorite spot for celebrities and a popular late-night dining fixture in the downtown core. It had been in operation for nearly a century, spanning from 1908 to 2006. At 98 years old, it was the oldest deli in the city at the time of its closing.

First the Expos, then Ben's...this place was a Montreal relic that deserved protected status. Oh the memories while watching the pics of the deli while still in operation in the first 2 minutes of this clip.I wish there were more. It's a gut wrenching shot of nostalgia.
