Dunno if you still have this car, but I have an '05 Ion-3 sedan, and recently had the same power steering issue. It can be fixed free under extended warranty (if the miles are >100k) from Saturn (or GM dealer, since they're no longer around). (For reference, you should be able to find 'Power Steering Assist Bulletin 10187'). Even if you've paid for the fix already, you MAY be able to get them to cover it in retrospect.

this is cool. i just put a g down on the same car. Its only 2700 and looks brand new.test drives pretty good too. just has a hell of a lot of miles on it

I have the 06 coupe, power steering's fine but the bushings suck.

@Ashleymariewithlove yea I haven't had any problems with suspension. Just the steering and some of the exterior trim just flew off on the high way. One weak screw holds it in (plastic between the windows). If you ever notice it getting loose I would superglue it or something before the same thing happens to you. $30 for a new one that I could have avoided if I would have noticed.
