Feeding the tortoise

Now the weather has gone nice our tortoise, Tortie, needs feeding quite often! He is a little camera shy, and only seemed to want to eat when I actually passed it to him. Tortoises might not have any teeth but he can certain take a snap at his food!

As soon as I left he was happily munching on his own. My grandparents bought him for my dad when he was young, so we guess Tortie's age to be at least 50. It was difficult to tell his age when we first had him. His favourite foods are cucumber, dandilions (he'll climb over the rest of his food to get to a dandilion), and lettice (though he doesn't like it as much as he used).

He is amazingly strong. I was once in the garden on a chair and felt myself move. He was pushing the chair with me on it forwards!
