Just wonderful. A great interpretation. One can't believe that this was a live performance because it sounds as perfect as a studio recording.

I have nothing against Thomas Hampson really, but I find his face to be very punchable. I just wanna punch it.... Actually I don't like him in general. Not sure why. This is a random comment.

It would be nice if Hampson could sing in tune and if he didn't flub every passage requiring a bit of technique. Sometimes I wonder why this guy has a career.
This said, I am delighted to see Furlanetto has lost none of his exuberance or charm. I love him!

Well, if domingo sing Simone, Hampson why not as D.G.. Only that Hampson was always a tenor with no high notes with a mediocre voice. If he heard Siepi singing this role, he will never attent to do it. He is a joke !

Thanks for the correction! That source publishing the cast of this this event online was obviously quite wrong! I'm not very familiar with either singer...but I was sure that I saw Kirchschlager on a fairly recent Opera News cover and I remember her being a brunette.
