Here you can see an eye with prominant meibomian glands. These glands produce oil that is important to keep the tear film from evaporating too quickly. Some people have MGD (meibomian gland dysfunction) and these glands clog up and cause eye irritation (aka. blepharitis).

  • Thank you for this video! Now we can see what it looks like. What is the treatment when you have these clogged and inflamed mebomian glands?

  • **WOW!!** Now I can finally SEE what's going on with my own eyes!! I'm already blind as a bat with Advanced Amblyopia, Hyperopia & Catarats...now I found out I have Meibomian Dysfunction & thanks to this video I can SEE what's happening to my eyes. Plus I wear bionic contacts that Im so dependent on. My docs prescribed a warm cloth for 5 minutes, twice a day; this works GREAT on Meibomian Dysfunction!! Anyone going through this I feel for ya & wish you the BEST of LUCK!!
