Hundreds of political activists have been arrested across Pakistan, Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder reports from Islamabad, as President Pervez Musharraf's crackdown on opposition party leaders and supporters continues ahead of presidential elections in a fortnight's time. Emotions are running high outside the country's supreme court in the country's capital, and despite heavy security a lawyer armed with spraypaint manages to stage a protest. His target - a controversial state lawyer. The attacker accuses him of making threats on his life - and of serving a president who some say is blackening the face of democracy. Meanwhile several dozen supporters of the MMA - an alliance of religious parties - protested not far from the supreme court- about 15 were arrested. Security forces surround all avenues leading to the supreme court, where a ruling is due on challenges to President Musharraf standing for re-election.

  • His accent is sooo messed up WTF

  • Eh Pakistan is a failed state.

The history of Pakistani leaders has been plain and simple... corruption.

As for BritishVictim, your country and colonization is why the indo-pak region, and most of the world is the way it is.

  • Dear, whatever your problem is why you are maligning our whole nation and country. I can answer you in the same way and even I can use abusive language but I won't do that because it's not in our nature. You can't achieve anything by doing this stuff. So, please stop. Thanks.... Long Live Pakistan....

  • Not the ones Ive met.

I may have over exaggerated it a bit with the Edirne to Antakya thing.

Pork is not a slur that a westerner would not use , I have scene You tube videos of 2nd generation children of immigrants who came to visit Pakistan and expressed to the effect that he was happy not to be there despite mild racism in Britain.

Seriously there is great reasons why situation of Pakistan is something to be embarrassed of.
