This video is a demo reel of the music I ripped from the soundtrack of Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon for the CD-i. It only houses the first 30 seconds of each of the 26 songs from the abridge pack I've created. Many of the songs have slight (instrumental) variations, depending on which screen you are at in the game. In the abridge pack I only put in what I thought were the best versions. If you treat all track variations as their separate entity, we get a total of 63 songs! I've also created a full pack, which includes all of these.

Both packs (and others) can be downloaded from:

A big thanks to Mat Howlett for hosting these files!

Say what you want about the actual game and it's cutscenes, but one cannot deny the quality of the soundtrack. It's a fantastic compliment to the game and it's hard to argue that it's actually the best part of the game, by far. Catchy melodies and nice beats, it's just a solid soundtrack for a game!

Please note that I did not make this music myself, I do hope we can preserve this music together, since Philips can't be bothered to give it the proper respect it deserves.

If you want to check out the other music I presented this way, then check out the playlist here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0EA2CFA81775392F

If you want to know my thoughts on the actual game, then check out my review:

If you want to see the whole thing, then check out the Let's Play I did of this game:

Please let me know if you encounter any problems. If you want to repost these tracks, by all means, please do. I only ask that you give me credit for ripping/naming them, because it's a real pain in the ass to be honest... I mean, I did have to play through it again to get all the locations right :P

  • While ripping, have you ever gotten a strange choppy sound in the files aside from being slow? And if so, how did you fix the issue?

  • @Psychlonic Micro Machines gave me music that was all choppy, I have found no way to easily fix that.

  • Here's MY thoughts on this: Entire game, not so great. Game's overworld theme? EPICLY COOL!

  • @SidRulz100 That would be a fair assessment lol.

  • I don't care what people say about the CDi Zelda games, the sound tracks were excellent !!

  • @HalfBlindGamer Yeah, I'm just saying even though the games weren't good, the music offered some sympathy.

  • @EpicWINNER1000 Yeah, probably, I found it through a CD-i forum as well. The program is intended to rip PS1 files, but can also be used for CD-i files. How well it works, really depends on the game though. It might also spew out a lot of (java) errors, but these can be ignored.

I have not found any unused clips on the WoG CD. I have still to rip the FoE one, but I doubt I'll find anything on there as well.

  • @HalfBlindGamer Niiice. :) How did you manage to rip the files from the CD-i games? I found a converter on the CD-i forums; is that what you used? Because I heard it creates errors frequently. Also, are ther any unused soundclips inside the CD for FoE and WoG? I would love to see if AM recorded voice clips as awful as mah boi" and "not into the pit!"

  • @EpicWINNER1000 Just checked the files and shouldn't be too hard to get the music off of the disc. It's all messed up in a random order though. Will sort through it and probably upload it after I'm done with my playthrough of Zelda's Adventure.

There were also some really interesting soundclips from the voice actors on there. Lots of stuff that you can't find in the game!

  • @HalfBlindGamer The theme I'm referring to is the one with the dragonfly swarm boss, BTW.

  • @EpicWINNER1000 I'll see what I can do, sometimes the files are stored in such a way that they are all broken up. But I'll pop it in this weekend and see what's possible!
