@abcglynn It may be a little late now, but I recommend calling teaching hospitals in universities in your area. we found one in a neighboring state who said they could do the surgery for between $1800 and $2800, much lower than the $3500-$5000 everybody else was quoting

How much is the back surgery? Our mini dachshund has paresis in her back hind legs and we cannot afford the Xray after these past 2 days of $500 at the vet. The dr wanted us to get an MRI and go to a specialist about possibly having surgery. Any suggestions?

my oldest doxie had back surgery at the age of 3. She was like bringin home a newborn. I taught her to walk, pee, poop and swim in our pool again. She is doing great, walkin, runnin and swimmin in the tub. SHES 9 YEARS OLD NOW :) the surgery was worth it. SHe had 2 slipped disks. a made a miraculous recovery!

that looks soooo much like my dearly departed dachshund, Noojie. she died easter 2009. ive never seen another like her until now. what a sweety.
