  • Aimee the phantom pains will get better with time they will never completely go away but they do get better. Being an amputee is and can be a hard job but I like to look at it in the frame of mind that I was picked for this task not that I was damned with an affliction. Gonna give you a link to a great site for advice and to meet other people in your position. empoweringamputees. org its a great site.

  • @Hook74 Thank you so much, dear. That's a good way to look at things. I think your videos are really awesome and inspiring.

  • @AmputeeLife You are very welcome! Thank you very much for your kind words.

  • @Chachaman111 Im speaking from an experience point of view, Ive been an amputee for almost 14 years. It is a mental side effect of being an amputee, so yes it is neurological.

  • I also heard amputees from a very young age likely dont have phantom pains.... than those who wer amputees recenty.

  • @Hook74 I'm not sure but Phantom Pains are a Neurological thing and is a phenomena that occurs with in the frontal lobe of the brain or something. Practically, another theory states that that particular region is re-configuring itself so that it ejects the memories or w/e of the amputated limb which is the cause of phantom sensations happening.

I gotta see in what comtemporary neuroscientists say about this phenomena.

  • Keep charging it and remember there are a lot of ups and downs but, life tends to normalize after some time goes by. Right now I am at month 2 and was able to get back into surfing...... so dont set limits on yourself or listen to anyone about what you can and cant do.

  • Hi. I don't know you but I was seriously hurt when I was around your age and can relate to some of what you're going through. I think your story is really interesting, but I'd like to hear more of the backstory. This channel doesn't have any other videos other than the update with your dad, but maybe you could update it with more about what happened to you. You're a pretty girl in an unfortunate situation, and there is a very real possibility that your vlog can become something very big.

  • Thanks for sharing your story. My best wishes for a speedy recovery!

  • Aimee you are an will always be beautiful an stay strong girl love you
