"A Wolf Story" an Original song by Lieshbet Kanale

We all know that the wolves are close to extinction. And now that they are making a comeback in Yellowstone National Park, there are plans to shoot some of them down. This is ridiculous, and so my brother - only 13 yrs old - wrote a song to reflect the seriousness of this issue . . . Here's A Wolf's Story . . .

A wolf pack travels, watched by human eyes.
A plane flies above, doors open wide.
The hunters stand, and load their guns.
And their rifles fire, killing all but one.
The last wolf goes unnoticed, shocked by what they've done.
They've left their bodies rotting in the sun.
They've killed the wolves, apparently just for fun.
"The hunters will be punished", cries the last wolf.
"The hunters will be punished, for the souls of the lost ones . . ."
The wolves weren't remembered, and the story never told.
And the wolves were forgotten, there in the cold.

The last wolf died. Frozen in the cold.
While the hunters sat nicely, warm in their homes.
